Teifi Valley Motor Club Limited - TVMC

Rali Bro Teifi

Thursday 11 Apr 2013 [23:08]
It's that time of year again, when Teifi Valley Motor Club members and other competitors from further afield are gearing up for the well known and well supported Rali Bro Teifi Rally. The 110 mile event will start from Greenfield Square, Cardigan on Saturday night, April 13th, and a large crowd is expected.

The Rally, is held this year in memory of past TVMC member and Bro Teifi sponsor, John 'Bont' Roberts. The club wish to once again express its condolences to the family. His passing has been and will continue to be a huge loss not only to the Rally Bro Teifi and its organisers but to all the members of TVMC and all his friends.

The first car will leave Cardigan at midnight. The route will take them around the areas of Rhydlewis, Meidrim, Crymych and Cardigan and the top five line up is pretty impressive with previous Welsh Championship winners at the forefront.

Car 1 will be 2012 winner, Llyr Williams and navigator Ceri Hughes; followed in Car 2 by current Welsh Championship crew of Meirion Evans and Iwan Jones, Car 3 will be 2013 Bro Caron Rally winner - Kevin Davies (navigator to be announced); Car 4 2011 Bro Teifi winner - Gethin Morgan (and again navigator to be announced) and Car 5 - John 'Tyres' Davies (multiple Cilwendeg winner) and navigator James Morgan.

Richard 'Dicky' Evans, along with Nigel Nelson, are the Clerks of the Course and as Richard explains, it's going to be an exciting night for both competitors and spectators alike.

' This year, the rally will be more tarmac based. Last year, we used a lot of whites and farm tracks, but due to new rules, all those taking part in the Welsh Championship rounds Bro Teifi being one of them, specific car tyres have to be used and these unfortunately are not always that suitable for very rough tracks,' explained Richard.

Richard also added: 'As always, I would like to thank this years sponsors, land owners and all house holders on route for supporting us once again. We must also thank Olwen Davies, club secretary for her hard work behind the scenes. Be safe and enjoy.'

The 2013 Rally is kindly sponsored by J Harries Electricals, Cardigan and Robert Davies Motors of Llechryd and Penparc.

The petrol stop will also take place at Robert Davies Motors Llechryd and the finish venue, the Black Lion Hotel, Cardigan.
