Dedicated radio service adds to the spectator experience
Broadcasting news, results, interviews and traffic reports live from Rally HQ
Partnership with WRC Live brings best rally coverage to fans

Wales Rally GB is delighted to announce the re-introduction of its own dedicated radio station a service that will be broadcasting live throughout the UKs concluding round of the FIA World Rally Championship (13-16 November).
The return of Wales Rally FM is the latest part of the rallys hugely successful revitalisation programme, which commenced last year with the move to a new base in north Wales.

With increasing numbers expected to attend this spectacular event in the Welsh forests, the provision of a dedicated radio station will be an essential component in enhancing the overall spectator experience. It will not only keep fans fully up to speed with the latest rally news and results but will also provide them with all the latest travel and parking information.

"Rally Radio was the lifeblood of the event for many years and its return is further evidence of the events on-going renaissance," said Ben Taylor, Managing Director of Wales Rally GB. "In todays world there are alternative online methods of communication, but a dedicated Wales Rally FM radio station still remains the best option to reach the fans. It offers extensive geographical coverage which is essential for an event which involves so many people travelling to areas where mobile reception can be challenging."

Broadcasting on 87.7FM, Wales Rally FM will work in conjunction with WRC Live, the WRCs own global internet based wrc.com radio station, to bring fans the latest news from around the event. The editorial coverage will be supplemented with output from a purpose built studio located right at the heart of the world championship event in the central Service Park in Deeside. Sharing interviews and other content from RallyFest TV, the events dedicated big screen television production, Wales Rally FM will be on air without interruption from well before the official Shakedown on Thursday morning until after the victors have been crowned on Sunday evening.

As well as providing interviews and insights with all the major personalities, Wales Rally FM will work closely with the organising team at Rally HQ, the police and car park operators to provide the public with all the latest information on where best to catch the action.

The station will also perform a key function in the reinforcement of other important messages including spectator safety.
